about

An 80s shred-inspired album!

First, I'd like to dedicate this album to my sister, Stina, who influenced me to get into rock and heavy metal. And secondly, I have to dedicate this to my good friend, Tulsky, whom was my earliest influence on guitar. He was my first teacher and guitar friend, and I still look up to him til this day!

I was born in '86 and often I wish I was born in the 60s or 70s so I could have been fully immersed in 80s culture and the hair-metal scene. I didn't start playing guitar until I was 19, so I had a very late start and much to catch up on!

Some of my influences from that time period are: Akio Shimizu (Anthem (JP)), George Lynch (Dokken), Rob Marcello (Danger Danger), Reb Beach (Winger), Vito Bratta (White Lion), Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), Marty Friedman (Megadeth), Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Warren DeMartini (Ratt) just to name a few.

Some more modern influences are the likes of Jake Guy, George Lynch (still!), Rob Marcello (Marcello & Vestry, House of Lords), Alexi Laiho/Roope Latvala (Sinergy, Children of Bodom/Stone), Tosin Abasi (Animals as Leaders), Andy James (currently in Five Finger Death Punch), Angel Vivaldi, Mamoru Goriku (JP), and many others of hair-metal/prog/instrumental metal influences.

I've always loved instrumental arrangements, and never thought I would be at the level I'm at right now. I'm far from my prime, but have decided to use what I have my arsenal and make the best of it! Most of these songs are redone from ideas in the past, but after learning some ins and outs of mixing and mastering, they sound drastically better than their originals. Mixing is an art I'll be learning for more years to come!

I hope I captured that 80s vibe and that you all enjoyed it. This is one of many album ideas I have in mind, so be on the look out for more material!

Thanks again! And let me know what you think!!
